Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
This position is eligible for 12.25% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) * COLA is subject to change without notice.
Employees participating in the KOS program must be available to work variable hours on days, nights and every weekend during the hours of 0515 to 2400. You will not be working in the same center indefinitely and must be able to travel to any and/or every Army CYS center on the island of Oahu. These centers are located in the Schofield and Fort Shafter areas. This means you may work at any of our child development centers, school age programs and middle/school teen centers. KOS employees should be able to come to work on short notice as we oftentimes assist understaffed Army centers on the island.
