JOB SUMMARY:
Title: Industrial Hygene Internship Location: North America-USA-Idaho-Soda Springs Monsanto is a global company making significant contributions to one of the worldapos;s most important industries - agriculture. We are a leading provider of agricultural products and integrated solutions for farmers. We are headquartered in St. Louis, MO with ~22,000 people in over 60 countries around the world In Soda Springs, we produce elemental phosphorous, a key component to ensuring farmers are more productive--something thatapos;s becoming increasingly important in our growing world. We are currently offering an Industrial Hygiene Internship for the summer of 2013 at this location. Responsibilities: * IH monitoring for various chemical and physical hazards such as noise, silica dust, phosphine, CO, SO2, H2S, and welding fumes. * Perform Samp;H related training. * Dispensary functions such as safety glasses, various PPE, and potentially minor 1st aid treatments. * Safety inspections and audits. * Update IH/Safety procedures. * Participate in incident investigations. * Perform quantitative respirator fit testing. * Perform other duties supporting the OSHA STAR effort. Qualifications: Required/Desired Skills: * Junior standing or above working toward a degree in OSH, IH, or closely related field * Must be returning to school in the fall of 2013 * Must have completed courses in Industrial Hygiene and Sampling and Evaluation of Health Hazards Ideal candidate will have: * Basic 1st aid training * Experience with respirator programs and fit testing * 3.0 or better GPA (desired) * Previous IH sampling experience - Job: Environmental, Safety amp; Health
