JOB SUMMARY:
Title: Safety Supervisor Location: North America-USA-Idaho-Soda Springs Under general direction supervises personnel engaged in industrial safety functions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment within OSHA Guidelines. Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to operating unit personnel to assure prevention of accidents and elimination of safety hazards within the work areas. Directs the inspection and survey of facilities and sites to identify unsafe working conditions. Investigates industrial accidents to find ways to eliminate any unsafe conditions. Promotes employee awareness of safety through publications, posters and training seminars. Ensures that safety requirements are included in the design, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of facility systems and the applicable training and procedures are given [to] operating personnel. Maintains working knowledge of current and proposed Federal, State and local standards and regulations and recommends actions in anticipation of potential impacts on operations. Provides advice, instructions, requirements and reports to operating management on matters pertaining to employee and facility safety. This position has accountability for all safety programs at the Soda Springs sites. Primary emphasis is on ensuring that safety programs to support this effort are in place and functioning. The Safety Supervisor is the primary contact with plant HR, Monsanto Shared Services, and regulatory agencies regarding the effective implementation of plant safety programs. The Safety Supervisor also has specific accountability for ensuring compliance with all regulatory safety requirements. Qualifications: 1. B.S. in Occupational Safety or a related field with 5 years manufacturing experience. 2. Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations, corporate safety requirements, and good management practices in the area of safety, process safety, and property protection. 3. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently, driving assignments to conclusion to meet commitments. 4. Program development and optimization skills. 5. Facilitation and presentation skills. 6. Written and verbal communication skills. 7. Keyboarding skills and the ability to productively use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Job: Environmental, Safety amp; Health
