JOB SUMMARY:
121648 The primary duties of the project manager are to function as a doer-seller by: (1) managing one or more projects from cost proposal development through completion; to meet all milestones and keep the project on time and under budget; and (2) building superior client relationships and participating in preparation and implementation of client development strategies and initiatives for future project development. The project manager will accomplish the first by managing a team of military planners, analysts, engineers, production coordinators, GIS / CAD specialists, and other disciplines as required. The Project Manager will accomplish the second by working with company client development leadership and establishing goals, initiatives and actions that lead to building a long-term client relationship and new work. The typical PM-doer role involves collecting, assimilating, and managing military installation and facilities planning data; land use data; project related data; and spatial features through research, on-site surveys, and interviews. Project teams gather information from multiple sources and calculate facilities requirements according to Department of Defense guidelines. Facilities may include buildings, infrastructure, ranges, and training areas. The Project Manager will prepare and conduct presentations on data collection, analysis process, alternatives, and master planning or programming results. The Project Manager will manage and actively participate in writing the master plan or other installation planning and programming documents as required. Direct and assist military planners and staff in the preparation of facility, site and/or enterprise development plans and investment strategies based on the results of facilities and infrastructure requirements analysis. Use various DoD data systems to analyze and record facilities and infrastructure requirements. Communicate and interact directly with the client. Keyword(s): Project Manager, Military, Planner, Urban Design Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or related field required. Have or be able to hold a DoD security clearance and a U.S. passport. Must be able to travel internationally. AICP, PE or related certification or registration desired. 10 years experience in DoD facilities master planning and programming preferred. Proven client relationship building and project development skills required. Air Force experience a plus. Strong analytical, writing and verbal communications skills required. Microsoft Office proficiency. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
