121638 Water and Natural Resources Business Group Manager Management USA - ID - Boise HDR Engineering, Inc. 10 An Affirmative Action Participant EOE M/F/D/V HDR has an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team in Boise, Idaho! We are looking for an energetic, technically savvy professional to be the overall lead and senior manager for our Water and Natural Resources Business Group. This Group focuses on providing planning, design, and construction support services to municipal water and wastewater treatment clients and water resources agencies across the state. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the business and diversify the client base. Responsibilities also include leading strategic client and project pursuits, providing technical services, overseeing quality of deliverables, and supervising and mentoring staff. The Group leader prepares annual revenue forecasts and budgets, monitors performance of the business group, and sells an wins projects that match the interests and skill sets of the staff. We are looking for someone who has experience with several of the following clients: water or wastewater agencies; Bureau of Reclamation; Army Corps of Engineers; irrigation districts; and stormwater agencies. Also, experience is required in water or wastewater engineering, water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics or drainage/flood control design. If you are a team player, have the drive to balance business development with operations management and delivery of technical services, we want to hear from you! SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Establish client relationships and drive the water/wastewater/water planning program in the local/regional marketplace. 2. Support staff in the development of strong client relationships and selectively serve as a key client manager. 3. Facilitate teamwork, communication and worksharing between offices, business groups, management, marketing staff and technical team to maximize client satisfaction, company growth and profitability. 4. Coordinate staff workload through the project development, design and construction stages. 5. Build team capabilities through recruitment, mentoring, performance appraisal, staff development and training. 6. Track the financial aspects of projects and coordinate and adjust the work effort with teams to ensure work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule and project budget. 7. Execute the strategic marketing plan leading the development of client relationships and the active pursuit of new opportunities and projects (with both new and existing clients). 8. Implement continuous improvement activities including technical standards, best practices and lessons learned in the area. 9. Monitor Business Group performance indicators and implement actions and process improvements as needed. 10. Monitor implementation of company policies and procedures, standards, quality assurance and risk management within business group. 11. Participate in development and implementation of company vision and direction as member of the Idaho office management team. 12. Facilitate project management reviews and project quality control reviews in cooperation with the director of professional services and the business class directors. 13. Participate in business and community activities as a representative of HDR. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or water planning field and 10+ years experience. Other key requirements: * Maintain a professional or engineering registration and have related technical experience. Excellent writing and communication skills. * Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and successful project management experience. * Previous consulting experience with an A/E or engineering consulting firm a plus. * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. * Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other business group directors, technical directors and marketing sector directors. * Commitment to quality, improvement and HDR values.
