Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt Shift Evenings Description DEPARTMET: Production REPORTS TO: Production Manager FLSA Status : Exempt JOB SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and direction for the shift. He or she acts as a coach, mentor, and facilitator while developing and training their staff. The Production Supervisor has a great understanding of the entire production process and a sound grasp of the complex relationships that exists throughout the process flow. They must posses the ability to trouble-shoot and pull together their team to resolve issues with the least amount of disruption possible. The Production Supervisor is responsible for; system efficiencies, direction of employee activities; material inventory and flow, and compliance to established product specifications, SOP’s, and plant policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Quality Directs sanitation activities to ensure cleaned equipment and period cleaning criteria and requirements are met Ensures compliance to in house and regulatory requirements Uses statistical process control tools to monitor and adjust operating parameters on equipment Complete assigned Corrective Actions in timely and cost efficient manner Cost Measures and tracks production goals by process. Use this information to drive the costs down within the departments Measure and track the department’s budget. Utilize information to drive the costs down. Track labor costs and manage overtime to maximize efficiencies at the lowest possible labor cost. Manages membrane life cycle performance program Delivery Provide leadership and direction Make approved corrections to System SOP’s, SSOP’s and Sanitation Program Provide timely inventories and feedback to Logistic function Safety Monitor and enforce safety SOP’s Enforce OSHA and Safety Regulations Morale Ensures effective employee relations by providing coaching and development of employee’s Responsible for developing a team oriented and efficient staff Creates an environment that encourages employee involvement and foster innovative ideas on process improvement Utilize shift pass-down meetings and plant meetings to communicate progress against measures, share the objectives, and solicit ideas and suggestions from employees Provide adequate time, training materials, and other resources that assist employees in learning their roles and responsibilities Equipment Operated: Separators, UF, RO, MF, NF Membranes systems, HTST, Evaporators, Dryers, Bagging and Bulk bagging equipment, Palletizer, Scales, CIP Systems, Miscellaneous Manufacturing Equipment, Personal Computer, Copy Machine, Calculator, Analytical Equipment, Phone, Fork lift, and hand tools. Working Conditions: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level Position Requirements JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education: Four year degree preferred, preferably in Dairy science or in a related field High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: Must have two to four years of experience in the dairy food industry of which at least one to two years should be in supervision roles Experience in managing personnel in highly diverse and complex work environment.
