NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED

DUTY LOCATION:    Fort Wayne, IN (122nd MAI SQ)

JOB SUMMARY:    This position is located in the Electro-Environmental (E&E) Shop of an Air National Guard Flying Wing, employing F-15 (with the PW100-220 modification), F-16, F-22, F-35, A-10, C-17, C-27J  and C-130J aircraft. The purpose of this position is to supervise workers on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis in accomplishing the work operations of the shop and to perform associated non-supervisory work.  The occupation and grade level, which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Aircraft Electrician, WG-2892-11.

This job announcement is for employment as an Indiana Air National Guard Technician; a Federal Civil Service position.  This is a dual-status technician job whereby you are required to maintain active membership in an Air National Guard unit and are required to wear the military uniform at the workplace.  As members of a unit of the Indiana Air National Guard, you will be required to train with your unit, normally one weekend a month and 15 days of annual training each year.  Indiana Air National Guard units and members are subject to immediate call to federal or state active duty to meet national or state emergencies.

APPOINTMENT FACTORS:  This position is an Permanent Excepted Service position.

MILITARY RANK REQUIREMENTS:   Promotable E-6 or E-7

MILITARY SPECIALITY REQUIREMENTS:  Individuals must meet the qualifications for the technician position but will have 1 year from date of hire to be assigned to a compatible AFSC in a compatible unit for the technician position advertised.

Compatible Military Assignments: 2A6X6, 2A3XX, 2A690, 2A600

Temporary, TERM or Indefinite Federal (Tenure 0 or 3) Technicians employed by the Indiana Air National Guard

Civilians with prior military service willing to join the Indiana Air National Guard
