About the Agency
The position is located in the Division for Curriculum and Staff Development (CSD), School of Language Studies, Foreign Service Institute (FSI), Department of State (DOS), in Arlington, Virginia. The School of Language Studies (SLS) is primarily concerned with training Foreign Service Officers of DOS, and officials of more than 40 other U.S. Governement Departments and Agencies, in the language and cultural skills which are necessary to carry out their professional and personal responsibilities in the language and culture of their assigned overseas posts. In addition to the Division of Curriculum and Staff Development and the Division of Continuing Training and Testing (CTT), SLS consists of five language departments: East, Central and South Assian Languages (EAP); Near East, Central and South Asian Languages (NEA); Romance Languages (ROM); and Slavic, Pashto and Persian Languages (SPP).
The Department reserves the right to terminate a conditional offer of employment if the individual does not receive a security clearance within 18 months from the date of the tentative offer letter.
