QUALITY CONTROL TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP - MAINTENANCE

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Control Technology Internship affords an opportunity to participate in the development of airline industry quality control processes. Candidates will be expected to perform one or more of the following roles - developer, technical business analysis, project management, and data miner.

The Intern will assist in communicating with internal customers and gathering information for analysis and reporting. These individuals will be responsible for identifying key metrics and modeling the relationship of these metrics with the current maintenance processes of Southwest Airlines. The goal of this internship is to leverage technology to solve problematic situations.

Individuals are expected to have experience with SQL, VBA, and developing/maintaining databases in Access.Minimum Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:
Progress toward undergraduate in Management Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Aviation related field.

Minimum sophomore level.

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Possess working knowledge of using Business Intelligence Tools and Data Mining - SAS, Oracle, Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects, Hyperion, Infoview, XML, Access, and Java Script.

Classroom and/or industry experience using programming languages VBA and/or SQL.
Basic understanding of hardware architectures and network systems.

Adapts to and uses technology to improve the effectiveness established processes, increase efficiencies, and quickly complete work objectives.

Problem solving ability and strong written/verbal communications skills.

Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments.

Knowledge or experience in the Aviation Industry preferred.

Involvement in organizations, social service, and leadership roles.

Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous and compassionate.

Looking for candidate who is a quick learner, self-motivated, and a team oriented.
