Specific Job Description Ensure program and corporate export/import procedures are effectively administered and adhered to. Interpret International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to provide guidance on export/import controls, licensing, and compliance. Deliver NASA flight hardware destined to the International Space Station from Johnson Space Center to international launch sites in Russia, Japan, and French Guiana (includes both freight and courier shipments). Actively pursue valuable solutions for customer to protect cargo during transit from physical and environmental threats. Assemble and review documentation required for export: Shipper''s Letter of Instruction, Air Way Bill, Shipping Proforma, Shipper''s Export Declaration, and government property management forms. Select preferred shipping routes, mode of transport, and coordinate with shipping agents to complete bookings and negotiate rates. Coordinate with government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Safety Administration, and the Department of State for necessary special permits. Coordinate interpreter support for communication with Russian counterparts. Drive strategic coordination with internal departments and external customers to ensure flight hardware is delivered to facility, processed to meet flight readiness requirements, and shipped in time to arrive for the launch of spacecraft at international site. Collect and coordinate JSC export/import requests for non-manifested hardware, including those to and from NASAs International Partners. Create and submit JSC export/import requests for CMC sustained hardware. English proforma development. Provide a weekly status on all shipments. Maintain shipping records on both myCMC and MIDAS. Provide Export Control request for CMC2 hardware that is shipping under the BHSEALS agreements. Create and submit ANE to JSC EST, then file into AES. Support JSC with export licenses. Complete hazmat shipping paperwork. Hand-carry support with TSA and traveler. Provide support for all CMC International RFS requests.
Standard Job Description Plans and coordinates import/export activities, including the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, related customer service, brokerage and customs transactions. Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products. Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues. Interfaces with internal and external worldwide import/export operations and organizations. Negotiates with foreign customers to develop handling agreements. Acts as liaison with U.S. customs representatives to resolve problems. Establishes requirements for license generation, guidance of the license generation and tracking process, and support of submitted licenses throughout U.S. Government review and approval process. Establishes, maintains and controls relations with appropriate government licensing authorities to ensure that the company''s position on licensing and technology release is conveyed, understood and accepted. Maintains marketing contacts with both domestic and foreign civilian and military personnel, as well as customers and procurement officers.
Security Clearance Secret
Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
