US Army Veterinary Services operates as a subsidiary of Public Health Command. Their mission is to provide military veterinary services in support of United States Army Medical Command and Department of Defense missions. The civilian function of the Veterinary Services is a supplemental mission which exists to assist soldiers and their families in the field of animal health and care.
This is a Regular Part Time position in the Naples, Italy Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF). The Veterinary Medical Officer will perform professional veterinary work that involves both surgical and clinical duties in line with the Public Health Command, Veterinary Services standardization guidelines. The individual will diagnose animal health problems; vaccinates against disease; medicate animals suffering from infections or illnesses; perform surgery; and advise owners about animal feeding, behavior, and breeding. In addition the individual will issue health certificates; perform, interpret, and explain laboratory findings to clients: maintain health records and prepare reports as necessary. The hired individual will be on a flexible basis to help with the VTF workload and must be good with client communication and follow-up of cases.
Please Note: This position is part-time and annual salary is pro-rated for actual hours per week. Yearly salary will depend on actual hours worked. Hourly salary is $42.00 to $45.00.
