Tour of Duty: Intermittent (PRN)
Newly hired intermittent nursing staff are required to attend a four-day nursing orientation program during the third week of the first or second month following entry on duty. This requires full-time daytime availability during that week.
Area of Consideration (AOC): First AOC will be given to AFGE permanent employees, Leavenworth, KS (including CMOP, National Cemetery Administration and current Veteran Canteen Service employees who have served on a permanent appointment for 90 days or more). Second AOC will be given to any additional permanent employees of Eastern Kansas Health Care System (EKHCS). Third area of consideration will be given to all other qualified applicants. If position is filled by reassignment, individual selected will retain the grade and step of position currently held.
Salary/Grade Level Determination: Your grade and salary will be determined by the Professional Standards Board (PSB). The PSB will review your individual qualifications, education and training/internship(s) and professional experience to determine the most appropriate salary and grade based on your individual accomplishments. If position is filled by reassignment, individual selected will retain the grade and step of position currently held.
Interview Process: If applicants are interviewed for the position, performance-based interviews may be used. In addition, candidates may be interviewed by a panel.
