What you need for this position:
- Bachelor''s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, advanced degree preferred!
- 2+ years of experience in a:
- microbiological or chemical testing environment
- commercial food-testing laboratory OR other industrial experience (non-academic)
- management/supervisory role overseeing 20+ employees
What you will be doing:
- Assist in the supervision of laboratory operations (microbiological and chemical techniques, quality control, interpretation of results)
- Participate in laboratory scheduling
- Ensure that aseptic/microbiological and sound chemical techniques are applied correctly
- Participate directly in quality control procedures and documentation to support compliance timeliness and compliance with ISO 17025 guidelines
- Review and visually audit laboratory staff to ensure compliance
- Approve pathogen log entries and participate in client communications in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager
