This position is located in the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Production Department, Code 960, Shop 57, Insulator Shop, Kittery, Maine.
This entry level position under the Workers Skills Progression Program (WSPP) is located at PNS in Kittery, ME. You will spend two years as an entry level Helper and after succesfully completing all required training and experience will progress to the Intermediate level. As an intermediate, you will receive up to two additional years of tranining and experience and will and then will be promoted temporarily promoted to the Journey level for one year. After completion of additional work experience and training your temporary promotion may be converted to permanent without futher advertising. Advancement to the Intermediate and Journey levels (and continued employment) requires satisfactory completion of classroom training and work experience.

UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF REQUIRED TRAINING, CANDIDATES MAY BE PROMOTED TO THE WG-08 GRADE LEVEL WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION. ADDITIONAL GROWTH EXIST TO THE WG-10 LEVEL.
