Key Job Responsibilities: The Avery Dennison Dallas Distribution Center, based in Carrollton, Texas, is looking for a maintenance coordinator.
The maintenance coordinator position will provide electrical, mechanical, and maintenance support to the facility and office to meet or exceed overall reliability of the site. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing mechanical repairs/rebuilds of process equipment
- Adhering to all site safety and health procedures, with safety of all being a core value
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing all mechanical systems and basic electrical system failures
- Fabricating new and/or replacement parts
- Documenting changes and repairs made to equipment
- Participating in special projects/functions including hands-on technical training of team members
- Supporting site initiatives and goals
- Maintaining proper handling, disposal and maintenance of hazardous waste
- Following a strict preventive maintenance schedule to lessen exposure to downtime related repairs and maintenance
- Maintaining a clean, organized and safe workshop and production floor
- Repairing complex electrical equipment, including; motors, switches, switchboards, electrical mechanisms, automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems and alarms
- Working from schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
- Supervising or assisting contracted personnel on heating, ventilating, air conditioning and other systems and equipment
- Meeting all reliability, service and cost goals
- Measuring, analyzing and problem solving machine downtime
- Contacting and negotiating with suppliers for services or parts
- Responding to calls for emergency repairs during off hours
- Travel to other sites, if needed, for training and/or support of division and/or company objectives
Position Requirements: - Minimum of 5-8 years experience as an industrial maintenance technician. Industrial electrician or related electrical experience, a plus
- Minimum 5-8 year experience in plant utility systems maintenance and operations, industrial machine repair and reliability techniques, machine tool functions and working with technical drawings
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, technical degree preferred.
- Certified or licensed in specialty areas required or ability to acquire these within a specified time in order to perform job responsibilities
- Experience in 3-phase and control power, basic input and output electrical devices
- Experience in hydraulic/pneumatic equipment
- Experience in welding
- Working knowledge of methods and procedures used in performing evaluations on all electrical apparatus using ammeters, meggers, temperature gauges, etc.
- Skilled at working from blueprints, circuit diagrams and schematics
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, creative and tenacious about finding root cause and a workable solution to problems
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Database, data entry
