MAINTENANCE MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Works with the Human Resource Manager to ensures that high standards of safety are developed, met, and maintained within the facilities.
2. Ensures that the facilities and grounds are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and fiscal consideration.
3. Ensures that major equipment and furnishings are maintained in safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement.
4. Provides training for personnel as it relates to the maintenance needs of the facilities. Attend training programs relevant to the duties and responsibilities of this position.
5. Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
6. Plans a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe and healthy condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all employees.
7. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance, electrical, and mechanical operations.
8. Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
9. Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep at plant facilities.
10. Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
11. Evaluates and recommends for electrical and mechanical equipment layouts and the modification of facilities within the plant.
Other Responsibilities
1. Prepares all necessary reports as required by the Vice President Operations and other staff personnel.
2. Acts as a team member in conducting plant-wide safety audit
3. Prepare appropriate paperwork for capital improvements in area of responsibility.
4. Participates in annual budget preparation as it relates to maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
5. Manages special projects as required and performs all other tasks as assigned by management.
Education Requirements
- Associate's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Production Management, Maintenance Management or manufacturing related areas.
- Must have a complete understanding of maintenance techniques and the ability to implement processes.
Physical/Work
- Environment Requirements
- Ability to use personal computer, ten key calculator, copy machine, fax, telephone, and printers.
- MS Office and ability to read shop drawings and product specifications.
- Ability to use measuring tapes, hand tools, and various manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Ability to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Highly focused, intense visual requirements, ability to read and write.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to travel anywhere by any means.
