Find Solutions to Agricultural Problems that Affect Americans Every Day, From Field to Table
The purpose of this position is to ensure that non-MARC metadata received from a variety of sources meets National Agricultural Library (NAL) standards and is ready for integration into the AGRICOLA database and other NAL data management platforms. This position is located in the Acquisitions and Metadata Branch, Data Production Division, National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, MD.
The NAL collections and databases are the premier sources for agricultural knowledge worldwide. NAL is a vital resource used b y USDA researchers, scientists, and policy staff and by scientists outside of the federal government and the general public. The Data Production Division contributes to fulfilling NAL mission by acquiring materials in agriculture and the related disciplines, digitizing content of NAL collections, providing bibliographic access, producing the content of the AGRICOLA database and developing National Agriculture Library Thesaurus (NALT).
THIS IS A TERM POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 13 MONTHS WITH A POSSIBLE EXTENSION UP TO FOUR YEARS.
