The Office of Nuclear Energy (NE), is seeking a motivated and highly-qualified candidate for an exciting full-time permanent position located in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Nuclear Facility Operations in Germantown, MD. The incumbent to this position serves as the Senior Technical Advisor concerning all nuclear safety matters under the purview of the Office of Nuclear Energy.  As Senior Technical Advisor, the incumbent provides expert advice to the  DAS for Nuclear Facility Operations on national and international nuclear safety issues as it applies to operation and management of nuclear facilities at the Idaho National Laboratory and a broad range of nuclear activities conducted within NE owned research facilities.  To learn more about NE, please visit the website   http://www.ne.doe.gov/

Background Security Investigation and DOE 'Q' clearance is required.

Designated and/or Random Drug Testing, Polygraph Exam is required.

Subject to one year trial period.

This position is not in the Bargaining unit covered under NTEU.
