OASH is led by the Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH) who reports directly to the Secretary and whose office includes the following components: Immediate Office of the ASH, the Office of the Surgeon General, the Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases Policy, the Office of Population Affairs, the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the President's Council on Physical Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, the Office of Minority Health, the Office on Women's Health, the Office for Human Research Protections, the National Vaccine Program Office, the Office of Adolescent Health, the Office of Research Integrity, the President's Advisory Council on AIDS, the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, the Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability, and the Regional Health Administrators.
