Position Information:
This Visitor Service Assistant, GS-0303-03 position is to be filled under a TERM appointment, with the initial period of employment not-to-exceed (NTE) thirteen months. Be advised that this Visitor Services Assistant position is also seasonal in nature and is being advertised as being "Subject-To-Furlough" which means the work of this position is seasonal in nature and does not provide for employment on a full-time, year-round basis. Based on anticipated workload and project funding, this TERM appointment is expected to work from March through October (8 months or 17 pay periods) and to be placed in a non-duty/non pay status from November to February (4 months or 9 pay periods). The actual dates of pay and non-pay status may vary from year to year.
Appointment to this position, however, will not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not to exceed 13 months with possible extensions (1 year increments) up to a total of 4 years without further competition.
Over the length of this term appointment, the actual time spent by the incumbent in paid status and non-duty/non-pay status may vary and will be contingent upon funding and operational needs.
