About the Position:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New England District is responsible for managing the Corps' civil work, military, HTRW, and international and interagency services (IIS) program responsibilities throughout the six New England states. The District employs about 500 professional civilian employees plus military officers in key management positions.
Engineering and Planning (E/P) Division is a diverse organization housed within the New England District Headquarters in Concord, MA. E/P Division is responsible for production of all technical products produced by the District. Design Branch is located within E/P Division and is comprised of approximately 40 engineers, architects, technicians, CADD and survey personnel executing design projects and providing input to Planning studies. Projects developed by New England District's design staff are as diverse as NAE's program and include: inspection, repair and maintenance of NAE's 35 flood control dams, 3 hurricane barriers, and the Cape Cod Canal including all the bridges in our inventory; maintenance and improvements to the harbors and rivers throughout New England; new projects to reduce flood damage, protect coastline, and restore wetlands and environmental habitat; maintenance and repair of existing coastal protection projects; and renovation, repairs, and new construction at Army and Air Force facilities as well as other federal agencies throughout New England.
