Title: MGR, FOOD and NUTRITION
<br>Location: Hillsboro, OR
<br>Position is directly responsible for the successful operation of Food and Nutrition Services in an acute care hospital including the planning, directing and managing all aspects of the services. Responsible for all foodservice related activities including patient care, non -patient care (retail, coffee cart, catering, etc.), quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all hospital related activities. Directly manages food service supervisors, clinical dietitians and collaborates with the Food and Nutrition leadership team to achieve consistent Food and Nutrition services in the Region.

<br>Essential Functions:
<br>- Professional leadership responsibilities within Regional Food and Nutrition Services.
<br>- Participate as an active member of the management team, including recruitment, orienting, training, terminate, evaluate, and discipline staff.
<br>- Manages the function and flow of Room Services, cafeteria services and clinical nutrition.
<br>- This position works closely with other Food Services Managers/Supervisors in the Region to assure coordination of services from the department.
<br>- Understand and use the organizations'' Human Resource policies to ensure staff are performing an optimal level.
<br>- Creates an environment where strong morale and spirit exist within a team and in which people can do their best.
<br>- Quality and Compliance: Participates in the creation and maintenance of the regional Room Service menu.
<br>- Ensures staff adheres to established recipes and portion control for nutrient standardization and fiscal management.
<br>- Conducts patient quality management studies to ensure patients are receiving meals that meet prescribed diet order and customer satisfaction criteria.
<br>- Implements and manages policies and procedures that support compliance with all regulations impacting hospital Food and Nutrition Services. Serves as hospital quality assurance expert.
<br>- Collaborates with Regional CBORD supervisor to ensure menu meets diet restriction standards.
<br>- Responsible for the overall nutrition management of all patients.
<br>- Finance: Ensure that cost per patient day is maintained within allocated budget.
<br>- Ensures that the cafeteria menu items are priced to cover all expenses incurred in their production and sale.
<br>- Stays current on new menu ideas and local market availability of products to ensure optimum customer sales.
<br>- Evaluates daily cafeteria sales and volume to ensure revenue is meeting annual budget.
<br>- Operates within annual budget.
<br>- Customer Satisfaction and Professional Development: Makes ongoing effort to identify opportunities to meet/exceed customer/patient/employee needs and expectations.
<br>- Takes initiative to identify and solve problems through pro-active behavior.
<br>- Promotes professional development and contributes to the professional growth of others.
<br>Qualifications:
<br>Basic Qualifications:
<br>- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management (as a manager or supervisor) position at an institutional or health care setting.
<br>- Bachelor''s degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition Management, Business Management or other related degree from an accredited University.
<br>- Local County Food Handlers Card - Washington County, OR
<br>- Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission and CMS standards related to acute care hospital Food and Nutrition Services.
<br>- Knowledge of engaging team members to achieve high performance.
<br>- Skilled in planning, organizing and delegating work to achieve positive outcomes.
<br>
<br>Preferred Qualifications:
<br>- Eight (8) years of experience in a healthcare setting with progressive management positions in Food and Nutrition Services.
<br>- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a health care setting.
