WHAT DOES AN INTERNAL REVENUE AGENT SENIOR TEAM COORDINATOR OR ACCOUNT COORDINATOR DO?

As an  Internal Revenue Agent Senior Team Coordinator or Account Coordinator, you will plan, conduct, and coordinate examinations on some of the largest and most complex corporations, many of which have international features in the United States.  These cases often require extensive knowledge and the ability to effectively coordinate a team in carrying out the examination process.  You will resolve critical and unusual problems for a range of complex issues, provide guidance on major examination projects or programs, and serve as an expert in an area covered by obscure or difficult to apply segments of tax laws.  Additionally, if you serve in the role of an Account Coordiantor, you will work with the Taxpayer during all phases of the compliance processes, including pre-filing and post-filing activities. You will find yourself involved in conducting pre-filing reviews, identifying, reviewing, analyzeing, and resolving material issues.

WHAT IS THE LARGE BUSINESS AND INTERNATIONAL (LB&I) DIVISION?

The Large Business and International (LB&I) business unit provides service and enforcement activities to support tax compliance of businesses and related entities with assets of $10 million or more, as well as small U.S. businesses engaged in international, U.S. citizens abroad, and foreign persons and businesses with a U.S. tax requirement. As our name suggests, international tax administration is an important part of what we do in LB&I. As part of the LB&I team, you may be assigned to work in International, or with one of six industry segments: Communications Technology and Media, Financial Services, Global High Wealth, Heavy Manufacturing and Transportation, Natural Resources and Construction, or Retailers, Food, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare. Regardless of where you serve, you will be supported by a variety of specialists (economists, engineers, field specialists and technical advisors) as you tackle the most complex foreign and domestic tax issues. 

1 Position is located in Heavy Manufacturing and Transportation Team 1694  in Troy, MI.

This position will be located within the RFTH Industry after the re-organization.
