Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) is a multi-divisional health care system based. The main hospital campus is located in Biloxi, Mississippi with Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) spanning 300 miles along the gulf coast in Mobile, AL, Pensacola, Ft. Walton Beach, and Panama City, Florida. The Chief Medical Service is responsible for the delivery of care in the acute inpatient medical unit, the intensive care unit, the emergency department and outpatient medical specialty care in the CBOCs. Over 200,000 veterans reside in our service area. The GCVHCS has affiliation agreements with three medical schools and numerous associated health programs. We support resident training in cardiology, dermatology, general surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, radiology, and dental programs, as well as a general thoracic fellowship. The residents rotate from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi.
