THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions. This announcement is open to accept resumes from candidates interested in helping the Department of the Navy meet our mission requirements for the acquisition of systems, equipment and facilities. This position is located in the Electrical Engineering Division, Engineering Department, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair, Gulf Coast (SSGC). SSGC is a major field activity in the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), responsible for contract administration of new construction, conversion, design, development and overhaul contracts. If selected, your primary responsibility will be to resolve electrical engineering issues. You will be required to oversee multiple ship projects to ensure that technically acceptable ships and craft are designed, fabricated, and tested.
