Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

This position may require working overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, out of cycle, unscheduled training, or on an emergency basis.

Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.

Fort Leonard Wood, in the beautiful South Central Missouri Ozarks, covers more than 61,000 acres. The Fort is located in Pulaski County. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville and St. Robert. The Post is two miles south of Interstate 44. St. Louis is a two-hour drive to the east along I-44 and Springfield, MO is a little more than an hour's drive to the west.
