About the Agency

The Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS), Technology and Science Division (TSD) is responsible for maintaining uniform application of standards for grains and commodities, providing reference standards for FGIS methods and subjective guidelines, and performing analytical analysis of grains and commodities. The incumbent works under the guidance of a senior scientist and is responsible for performing analytical laboratory analyses, primarily for trace chemical components, in grains, oilseeds, and processed-grain commodities.
