JOB SUMMARY:

There are currently two vacancies for Licensed Practical Nurses in the Primary Care Specialty Clinics (Silver/Gold).  The individual in this position works under the periodic supervision of a professional nurse and is responsible for the nursing care provided to the patients assigned to him/her. The Licensed Practical Nurse performs such tasks as preparing and administering prescribed treatments and medications; identifying and interpreting deviations in patient’s normal state of health to initiate nursing actions as appropriate; recognizing patient/family teaching needs to provide information or seeking out resources to meet those needs; providing and documenting health teaching conducted.  Must be able to work effectively with patients/families, physicians, other professionals, and support personnel in accomplishing required tasks/assignments.  The tour of duty will be days, Monday through Friday, with occasional need to work to 5:30PM to meet patient care needs.  The incumbent will be under the supervision of the Nurse Manager for the assigned clinic.

 

Salary and grade will be determined upon qualifications and experience

One year of med/surg experience preferred; derm/ortho/urology/ambulatory care experience preferred.  IV certification needed. Candidates who meet the appropriate requirements contained in the standard will be considered.  Applicants who have previously applied for similar position must reapply to be considered.
