About the Agency

• FSIS will soon end the PHHRS Demonstration Project and will convert to the General System (GS). Any PHHRS position effective after the conversion will be subject to GS rules and regulations to include salary determination. This AS-2/3 position is equivalent to GS grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
• The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture responsible for ensuring that the nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome and correctly labeled and packaged.
• This position is being advertised concurrently under Merit Promotion (MP) procedures. Candidates who wish to be considered under those procedures must apply to FSIS-MMP-2014-0192.
• 
  This position is located in the Midwestern Laboratory of the Office of Public Health Science, Food Safety and Inspection Service.
• The work schedule is: M-F, 7AM-3:30PM, maxiflex is available. Occasional weekends and holidays may be required.

• Salary Range: AS 02 - $31,628.00 to $50,932.00; AS 03 - $43,389.00 to $62,297.00
