About the Agency

• FSIS will soon end the PHHRS Demonstration Project and will convert to the General System (GS). Any PHHRS position effective after the conversion will be subject to GS rules and regulations to include salary determination. This AP-2/3/4 position is equivalent to GS grades 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12.
• This position will initially be filled at the developmental band level at AP Band 02 which is equivalent to the GS-5/7 or AP Band 03 which is equivalent to the GS-9/11. 
• The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture responsible for ensuring that the nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome and correctly labeled and packaged.
• This position is being advertised concurrently under Merit Promotion (MP) procedures. Candidates who wish to be considered under those procedures must apply to FSIS-MMP-2014-0121.

• This position is located in St. Louis, MO.  The work schedule is: M-F 7-3:30; occasional weekends and holidays; also maxiflex schedule available.

• Salary Range: AP 02 - $32,628.00 to $50,932.00; AP 03 - $47,923.00 to $75,376.00.
