The Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) has a current RN vacancy within the Office Of Nursing Service, VET PRO Credentialing Coordinator. The incumbent is administratively and clinically accountable for nursing practice to the Associate Director Patient Care/Nurse Executive (ADPC/NE).
The incumbent is assigned to the Office of Nursing Service. Population served are nursing employees and potential nursing employees of the VASNHS. These individuals are adults of various ages, ethnicities, races, religions, and education levels. The Nursing Vet Pro Credentialing Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the Office of Nursing Service Vet Pro Credentialing Program. The incumbent is responsible for the clinical, administrative, research, and educational aspects of the assignment. This is accomplished through application of VA local, Network, and national directives and guidelines. The Nursing VET PRO Credentialing Coordinator initiates, monitors, facilitates, and reports outcomes associated with credential verification of nurse applicants and staff. She/he serves as a clinical resource and provides administrative and technical support to clinicians and managers in the areas of planning, developing, integrating, implementing, and managing programs designed to promote timely credentialing data entry, verification, and dissemination. She/he performs credentialing data collection, analysis, aggregation, presentation, and reports findings related to system reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Nursing Vet Pro Credentialing Coordinator works collaboratively with all levels of nursing and facility staff to ensure program reliability. She/he develops and administers a plan to identify associated information integrity and security risks, and implements effective control measures based on VA policies, regulations, and current standards of care and practice. She/he participates in Nursing Service, facility/Medical Center, and Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) task forces related to nurse credentialing. She/he is an active member of the facility Nurse Recruitment and Retention Committee. She/he prepares, coordinates, and presents education to staff about credentialing processes. Position may entail travel between several VASNHS campuses. Based upon education, experience, and assignment, this nurse may provide direct supervision and be assigned as a preceptor to new or less experienced staff.
