The Occupational Therapist independently develops and administers occupational therapy to inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic physical and musculoskeletal disabilities. Serves as a consultant to occupational therapy staff and other medical center staff involved in seating and mobility, spinal cord injury and prosthetic programs and clinics, and actively participates in patient staffing and discharge rounds. Issues and instructs patients on use of adaptive and durable medical equipment. Prepares treatment plans, evaluates results of treatment, and provides timely and accurate documentation. May travel to community based outpatient clinic(s) in response to patient and program needs. Provides administrative and/or clinical guidance to staff physical therapists, occupational therapists, recreation therapists and rehabilitation assistants. Provides patient care that is appropriate to the cognitive, emotional, and chronological maturation needs of the adult and/or geriatric patient. The therapist is directly responsible to the ACOS, Geriatrics and Extended Care.


KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • U. S. Citizenship
  • Must pass pre-employment examination-Designated and-or Random Drug Testing
