The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN). The IHS goal is to raise Indian health status to the highest possible level. IHS provides leadership and direction to programs and activities designed to improve health outcomes to over 1.9 million AI/AN through a system of IHS, Tribal, and Urban operated facilities and programs.

To provide clinical nursing care in the Operating Room with a full range of nursing proficiency. Same-day procedures are provided for local procedure, endoscopy procedure (conscious sedation) and cystoscopy procedure. Provides intensive nursing care and post anesthesia care to patients who have undergone a broad range of surgical procedures. The incumbent reports to Supervisory Clinical Nurse. This position is located at Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC), Division of Nursing Services, Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Gallup, NM.
