White Sands Missile Range is known as the birthplace of Americas Missile and Space Activity and is located in the Tularosa Basin of south-central New Mexico at the base of the beautiful Organ Mountains. The Tularosa Basin is known for hot summers and mild winters. We have a wide variety of sporting activities; camping, fishing, boating, hiking, skiing, and hunting. Local wildlife includes oryx, deer, cougar, coyote, rattlesnake, tarantula, scorpion, and elk, turkey, bear, and wild boar in the mountain areas.
This position may be located at either of our Childcare Centers: Alan A. Nord Youth Services Center and/or our Thomas A.P. Jones Child Development Center. Duties will include working with children age six weeks to 18 years of age (12th grade). Program Assistants will aid children with indoor and outdoor play, feeding and lunchtime, naptime, games, educational activities, etc. using provided schedules and curriculum. This is a developmental assignment to Target position Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level-4), CY-1702-02.
