The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN). The IHS goal is to raise Indian health status to the highest possible level. IHS provides leadership and direction to programs and activities designed to improve health outcomes to over 1.9 million AI/AN through a system of IHS, Tribal, and Urban operated facilities and programs.

This position is located at the Zuni Service Unit, Division of Clinical Services, Department of Mental Health, Zuni, New Mexico. This position reports to the Director of Mental Health. This position provides full range of psychiatric services with emphasis on outpatient and community based services to children, youth, adults and families. Provides crisis intervention services. May occasionally admit psychiatric patients to the inpatient medical unit at the Zuni Hospital. Treatment modalities include individual, group and family therapy and appropriate use of pscyhotropic and other medications.
