About the Surrounding Area: Fort Bragg is located in Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett and Moore counties, in North Carolina. The fort is named for Confederate general Braxton Bragg. It covers over 251 square miles. It is home of the US Army airborne forces and Special Forces, as well as the US Army Forces Command and US Army Reserve Command.
