Working with and reporting to the SVP Scripted Development, this person will be responsible for all creative matters relating to the procurement, development and oversight of TBS comedy pilots. The primary responsibilities will include targeting and collaborating with A list writers, directors and producers to develop new ideas, scripts, and pilots; hearing and responding to pitches; reading and reviewing scripts; creatively overseeing pilot scripts and the pre-production, production, and post-production of the comedic pilots ordered based on those or other scripts.Major duties and responsibilities:Seeking out and meeting with top writers and producers to write comedy pilot scripts, interfacing with the entertainment community (agents, managers, studio executives, writers, directors, producers, and production companies) to communicate the creative needs of the network and target the appropriate people and material. This involves numerous meetings, phone calls, and research.Hearing and evaluating pitches. Evaluating submissions, actively participating in meetings where writers and/or producers pitch new story/series ideas. Analyzing pitches to determine the value of the pitch as it relates to the creative direction of the Company.Reviewing scripts, books, and film that are submitted. Submissions consist of both new project submissions (scripts, books, articles, etc ) and writing samples from writers.Oversees the development from original pitch through outline through all drafts of the scripts. Provides clear and creative notes to strengthen the potential project.Creatively oversees the prep, production, and post production of all comedic TBS shows. Identifies key personnel (director, composer, editor, talent etc). Works closely with Production and Business Affairs.
