Temporary winter Highway Maintenance Worker I. These positions are full time, active from November through May for the various Maintenance Stations in Ely, Eureka,amp;amp; Austin. Incumbents perform winter highway maintenance dueties, including snow plow opeation, anti-icing activities and assistance in emergency operations. One year of general labor or semi-skilled work experience that required the ability and dexterity to operate tools and equipment. Applicant must be 18 yrs of age or older upon application. Qualified applicants must possess the following: A valid driverapos;s license is requried at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. These positions are used to maintain Nevada roads during the winter season. In order to be eligible for these positions, candidates must possess a Class A or B commercial driverapos;s license upon application. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. In addition, federal law requires random testing for controlled substances during employment. This announcement is for temporary (maximum of six months) positions only. Applicants must indicate that they are willing to accept temporary work in order to be considered. These positions require an applicant to be 18 hrs of age or older upon application.
