The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Research Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) for the Hydraulic Engineering Research Unit, located in Stillwater, OK. The incumbent will be the team leader in cooperative research involving the development and evaluation of mathematical and physical models of hydraulic structures. The result of this research will provide engineering criteria which will be used to design, construction, repair and maintain hydraulic structures and channels worldwide. The incumbent will collaborate with USDA/ARS, national and international scientists, practicing engineers as well as other government agencies, in research oriented towards solving problems concerning erosion of cohesive materials as it applies to hydraulic structures, channels, spillway, embankments and flood conditions.
This position requires the selectee to undergo a pre-employment check and a full background investigation. Any offer made is considered a tentative job offer pending the outcome of the pre-employment check. Retention in the position is based upon a favorable adjudication of the background investigation. The incumbent will be subject to periodic reinvestigations.
