Essential Job Duties:
* Responsible for the processing biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payrolls for up to 7,500 employees located in various states and international. Payroll processing includes Time and Labor employee and system maintenance and interfacing to the payroll system. Calculation and processing of special payments, imputed income, garnishments and deduction set ups.
* Application of company pay policies and multiple state pay rules in the Time and Labor system.
* Payroll issues within California law: time and labor systems
* Perform various payroll accounting functions such as preparation of payroll disbursements, escheating , account reconciliations, manual journals as well as loading Payroll G/L to Oracle and SAP.
* Perform a variety of tasks related to employee benefit disbursements to third party administrators. Including deferred compensation payments and election set ups, and other Pension, Retirement and Benefits related transactions.
* Analyze G/L entries and provide supporting documentation to Finance and other related organizations.
* Process employee vacation accrual jobs and analysis.
* Interact with HR, Finance, employees, and third party benefit administrators.
* Responsible for banking activity as it relates to payroll checks and direct deposits including escheating.
* Provide backup support to Payroll Analysts and Payroll Tax Analysts as needed.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications (in order of priority):
* Candidate must be able to train in California for a two to three month duration.
* 2 years corporate payroll process experience.
* General knowledge of payroll principles including overtime and tax withholding calculations.
* Good problem solving and mathematical skills.
* Strong Excel and Word skills.
* Excellent time management and organization skills.
* Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
* Excellent communication skills, oral, written and listening.
* Work independently and work well as a team player.
* Handle strict daily deadlines and be able to prioritize work.
Additional Desired Qualifications (in order of priority):
* Working knowledge of Peoplesoft 8.9 or 9.1 experience.
* Working knowledge of Oracle G/L
* Knowledge of expatriate payroll processing and knowledge of alternate work schedules.
