This position is part of the Operations Team (Transportation Engineers) within the Pennsylvania Division Office of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). You will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects under the USDOT Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER), or TIGER” Discretionary Grant program. Duties include oversight of design and project development, along with overall coordination of correspondence, Agreements, routine reports, executive briefings, engineering plan reviews and general project management and monitoring. The position is responsible for communication with stakeholders, project sponsors, executive staff and team members. Responsibilities include participation in the planning, design, environmental analysis, construction, and financial aspects; and, representing FHWA in all matters involving the State Department of Transportation (DOT), the Grantee, consultants, contractors, other agencies and the public relative to TIGER projects.
The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced, highly qualified highway engineer who has experience in the transportation, design, environmental, and project management arena looking to expand their knowledge and experience in the civil engineering discipline. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working and communicating with people from varying entities and at various professional levels.
