The mission of VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, (VANIHCS), is to provide coordinated, compassionate and comprehensive quality primary care, mental health services and extended care to Veterans in a timely, accessible and cost effective manner. It is a fully-integrated medical care facility with a dual campus and combined VA mission. The combined mission of the VAINHCS means military retirees, and eligible veterans receive health care at these facilities. The Fort Wayne campus offers primary and secondary medical and surgical services.  The Marion campus offers a full range of psychiatry services, nursing home care and extended care services.  Primary care clinics are available at both campuses and at Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in South Bend, Goshen, Peru and Muncie, Indiana.

This position is located within the Medical Service at the Northern Indiana Health Care Systems (Fort Wayne) or (Marion).

The other campus, Fort Wayne, IN; Allen County is within a 250-mile radius of 17 percent of the total United States population and within a day's drive of half of the nation's population; it is nearly equidistant from the cities of Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, Detroit and Indianapolis, in the four states of Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois, respectively.

*The selected candidate's salary will be determined by a Compensation Panel.  The Compensation Panel will review the selected applicants' education, qualifications, board certifications, professional training/fellowship(s), and length of practice (professional experience) in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected.

Relocation/ Recruitment Expenses: Relocation incentives are authorized for this position.

• Travel is required between VANIHCS facilities in Marion and Fort Wayne, including its CBOCs in Peru, Muncie and South bend, Indiana.
