Mission Statement
This position is located in the Department of Defense (DOD), Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA, Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS). The DSCA is responsible for managing the implementation of worldwide security assistance programs, including Foreign Military Sales and Financing programs, as well as DOD-appropriated programs that implement Secretary of Defense Security Cooperation objectives. The DIILS is the lead defense security cooperation resource for professional legal education, training, and rule of law programs for international military and related civilians, globally. The work performed furthers United States (U.S.) national security and foreign policy objectives and provides both resident and mobile programs. Program topics cover various rule of law related areas, including human rights, military justice, and military operational law, civilian control of the military in a democracy, disciplined military operations, and legal aspects of combating corruption. The incumbent performs a wide range of duties and responsibilities that include technical work in accounting, budgeting, and financial management, as well as the travel / Defense Travel System (DTS).
