JOB SUMMARY:

The position will establish, manage, and perform the cost accounting function by developing, formalizing, and maintaining a cost accounting system and methodology in a manufacturing setting. <br>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. <br>• Plan, study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchase, inventory, and labor.<br>• Develop annual manufacturing burden/overhead rate. <br>• Analyze manufacturing processes and methods to determine cost effects. <br>• Prepare month end report comparing standard costs to actual production costs, with variances explanations.<br>• Provide management report comparing standard costs to actual production costs, with variances explanations.<br>• Interface with Marketing, Engineering and other departments on costing issues.<br>• Prepare month end and year end closing entries. <br>• Responsible for conduction periodic cycle count; semi-annual physical inventories; developing inventory controls and scrap reporting procedures.<br>• Collaborate in the development of the annual business plan and operating budget.<br>• Analyze, approve and track capital expenditures. <br>• Computer Skills: This job requires computer skills such as 10-key and the use of Word, Windows, Excel, and department specific programs. Computer literate with working knowledge of software such as Word, Windows, Excel, department control system.<br>• Safety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures by using equipment and materials properly.<br>• Perform non-departmental specific projects as assigned.
