JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant is responsible for the grains accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, financial reporting and Human Resources functions as assigned by the Controller. Team members in this position provide financial information to the management team as well as outside contracted entities, analyze accounting data and prepare reports as directed. The Accountant will perform various backup responsibilities for the Accounting Assistant and Controller. <br>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS / COMPETENCIES<br>To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: <br>Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. <br>Two (2) to four (4) years of accounting experience required. Experience with bookkeeping procedures such as accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processing required. <br>Experience with grains accounting systems and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred. <br>Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications is required. <br>Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.<br>POET is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
