JOB SUMMARY:
Job ID: 2717; Close Date: 02/04/2014; <br>Agency: Department of Game, Fish and Parks; Division of Parks and Recreation Operations<br>Location: Lewis and Clark Recreation Area<br>Salary / Grade: $11.47 per hour N11 <br>This position is responsible for keeping park facilities and grounds clean and well maintained for park visitors. Main duties include: supervision of custodial crews, cleaning and maintenance, minor repair of park facilities, grounds litter control, ordering supplies and equipment, record keeping, ensuring employees are properly trained in cleaning procedures and following safety practices.<br>If you possess a National Career Readiness Certificate, please submit the certificate with your application. For more information on how to acquire a National Career Readiness Certificate contact a South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation Local Office. <br>Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest / conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.<br>The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Work shift is primarily Monday - Friday, 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M., 40 hours per week. Yearly work period is March 9 - December 8. Some weekend work will be required in the summer and during emergencies. Some travel is necessary for training. Experience in custodial maintenance, building maintenance and supervision experience; and a positive attitude and willing to work as part of a team is preferred. <br>Knowledge of: cleaning chemicals and safety precautions; supply inventory and application of janitorial supplies and products; supervision of facility cleaning crews. Skill to: conduct minor facility repairs. <br>Ability to: motivate seasonal staff so they perform at the highest level; create work schedules and relay work duties for seasonal workers; lift <br>50 pounds and work in a variety of outdoor environments. <br>VETERANS' PREFERENCE ELIGIBLE <br>"An Equal Opportunity Employer"
