JOB SUMMARY:
Requires 2 years experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of accredited vocational technical school program; Class B CDL with Air Brakes or ability to obtain license within 90 days; proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair; ability to read and comprehend service and technical information; provision of personal tools; and ability to lift 75 pounds. Will perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on fleet of 12 refuse trucks; perform inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment; utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs; perform service calls for emergency breakdowns; conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment; complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times; maintain clean, safe work area; and communicate effectively about needed repairs or tasks. Wage negotiable depending on experience and qualifications and is competitive.
