JOB SUMMARY:
Shop Mechanic
Established in 1961, H&E Equipment Services is ranked in the top 10 of Rental Equipment Registry's (RER) top 100 equipment rental companies. We are a leading supplier of equipment for construction, earthmoving, compaction, paving and material handling customers. In addition to specializing in rentals and sales, we offer extensive repair and maintenance programs with comprehensive parts inventories, mobile service, planned maintenance, fleet management, crane remanufacturing and more!
H&E is currently looking for a Shop Mechanic.
Responsibilities:
* Maintains and repairs company rental equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and effective operation for customers.
* Performs preventive maintenance and general maintenance on small vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Requirements:
* 8 Years experience in engine repair
* High School graduate, trade school preferred.
* Experience in any or all of the following: repairing and maintaining tools, engines and equipment requiring mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic.
* Experience in electrical and hydraulic schematics.
* Experience in performing preventive maintenance services.
* Ability to work with other shop mechanics to troubleshoot more complex calls and repairs.
* Experience in rebuilding and replacing complex components a plus.
* Experience in ordering parts and equipment necessary to effect repairs.
* Experience utilizing scheduled maintenance forms and/or work order computer systems.
* Experience in maintaining an accurate schedule and record of maintenance.
* Experience in training customers on equipment and vehicles a plus.
* MUST have excellent customer service skills and a professional manner.
* Position may occasionally require a visit to customer premises to conduct repairs.
