This is a temporary seasonal full time position not to exceed 1039 hours in a year, duty stationed at Badlands National Park, near Interior, South Dakota.
AREA INFORMATION: Badlands National Park is located in southwestern South Dakota 75 miles east of Rapid city (population 65,500), and 30 miles from the communities of Wall, Kadoka, and Philip. Shopping and health care facilities are available in Rapid City, Wall, Kadoka, and Philip. Limited grocery shopping, a service station, and post office are located in Interior, 2.5 miles from park headquarters. A school serving grades K-8 is located in Interior, and schools K-12 are located in Wall, Kadoka, and Philip (without busing). Limited housing for rent or purchase is available in the surrounding towns of Wall, Kadoka, and Philip. The area is a beautiful place to live and raise a family but winters can be harsh with occasional cold temperatures, high winds, and blizzard like conditions.
