Job Summary:
The Lead CYPA will oversee the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate programming, curriculum and activities for children and youth assigned to their room or program. The Lead CYPA will maintain the accountability and safety of children as their top priorities.  They will assist ensure that environments are safe and nurturing and conducive to supporting the development of each child as mandated by Army and national standards. They will act as the liaison between their assistant and management and will follow the directions of parents and supervisors to ensure that each child’s needs are met; they will complete all required trainings in accordance with their Individual Development Plan (IDP) as a condition of employment and will demonstrate competency in their job. The Lead CYPA will mentor new staff and model appropriate behavior and guidance techniques. Employees will adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and program and Army or garrison policies.
